Important Note!
Due to the popularity of this post, we have been getting a large amount of questions about this truck.
- The F-150 REQUIRES ELECTRONICS to be INSTALLED in ORDER to be able to START the TRUCK. (Your truck will not magically start by simply pressing the lock button 3 times)
- Our shop has nothing to ship you. The truck needs to be at our shop to perform the remote start and camera install. (We can not come to you)
- We can not teach your nephew Jacob or your local Ford dealer on how to perform these installations. (Yes, we know your nephews name)
Please keep in mind that ENORMIS Mobile Specialties is a retail store located in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania. Our remote car starters are only sold installed and the installation is done at our location. If you are not able to bring your vehicle to our facility in Harborcreek, PA, we will not be able to provide you with service. Thanks for your understanding.
____________________________________________
One of our specialties here at Enormis Mobile Specialties is taking care of apprehensive customers. What do we mean by that? After your home, your vehicle is usually the second-most significant purchase you will make. So, you’re understandably leery of letting anyone do major work on it. Therefore, treating it with the respect it deserves is where we excel. Here’s an example.
A new client brought his 2015 Ford F-150 XL to us after watching our videos about how we install remote starter systems. He wanted us to install a remote starter and add a backup camera in his new Ford.
Easy To Start Ford F150 XL Remote Starter System
Working on Ford vehicles is an area of expertise for us. We are very serious about installing electronics. Therefore, we invested in a FORD IDS computer to properly communicate and program the factory Ford computer. The IDS computer allows us to enable Ford factory features. (The Ford dealers are not always able to enable these features.) In the case of this F-150, we used our Factory Start V2/V3 system as the remote start foundation in this 2015 F-150. By the way, the 2016, 2017, and 2018 F-150 can use the same remote start setup. It’s like we can read your mind!
This system (that we installed) allows the owner to start the engine by simply pressing the lock button on his factory key fob three times in quick succession. After that, the truck will start up. The owner can even fine-tune the run time and climate control settings through the factory menu on the LCD dash screen. (because we programmed the Ford computer) The best part: Adding this remote start does NOT automatically void or affect your new truck warranty!
Long-Distance Relationship
We could start this truck with Ford factory remote control, but the range of factory remote controls is very limited. No problem! We added an Ataqan two-way 0.4 mile remote control to the system. With this added remote, the customer can be almost anywhere! He could be at home, work, church or at the grocery store and still have enough range to start his truck! The Ataqan Remote includes LEDs that advise the customer when the vehicle is locked, unlocked, or if it has been started. It is all controlled by a single, easy-to-use button. (Ford remote still works as before)
Easy To See
Because modern pickup trucks are pretty big, the customer asked us about adding a rear vision camera to the vehicle to make it easier and safer to back up. As a result, we turned to our FORD IDS computer and enabled the factory camera option in the vehicle computer. (Most Ford dealers will not do this) Then we installed a special camera on the rear of the vehicle. When the customer puts the transmission into reverse, the camera image instantly appears on the 4.2” LCD screen on the dash.
Expectations Met
Our customer eventually returned to Enormis Mobile Specialties to pick up his truck. What’s next? A thorough walk-through of course. We then showed him how the Ford factory and new Ataqan remotes start the truck. The rear camera didn’t take much explanation! After that, the customer was thrilled with the work we had done. Later in the conversation, he mentioned that the best part was that the remote start and rear camera seemed to have come from the factory.
After reading all of this, are you interested in a rear camera and/or a remote starter system for your car or truck? Are you within a 2 hour drive of Erie, Pennsylvania? If you answered yes, we invite you to drop in or contact us. We will explain how our MECP Certified installers can add one to your vehicle. For more information, contact us here.

Hello,
I live in Columbus Ohio and have a 2015 F-150. This remote start is exactly what I am looking for as in it uses the computer on the truck and uses the factory key fobs. My question is I live in Columbus, what is the model of the remote start system? I’d love to have that installed around where I live. Also I don’t need the longer range remote
Staff says

I need some info on the remote start and back up cam. for my 2015 F150 XLT.
Staff says
Thanks for the comment. We have received you remote start inquiry through our website. We are getting requests from all over the United States. We do these F150 special remote starts and rear cameras using the Ford monitors in Northwest, PA. Unfortunately we MUST have the vehicle in order to work on it. We have no parts to ship anyone as this 2015 and 2016 F150 remote start and rear camera install requires programming from special computers.

Hi, I watched the video and really wish yall were closer (I’m in SC). This remote start is exactly what I’ve been looking for, but unfortunately, cannot find anyone local that could program/install it in my 2015 F150. You wouldn’t happen to have any referrals for shops down my way?

Hello, great website !
I have a 2016 F150. I would like to add a remote start to it.
Wondering if possible, can I purchase a factory key fob that has the remote start button ? Rather then pressing lock 3 times ?
What do you charge for your service ?
Staff says
Thanks for the question on the remote start for the 2016 F150. We will send you an email.
Thomas Holcomb says
I have the same question? Dealers seem to think I can’t
Staff says
Dealers think you can’t install a simple high quality remote start in a 2015 2016 F150 that uses the current F150 Body Control Module and electronics!? Well, they are wrong and our many installs and video proves that the remote start experts in Erie, Pa know what they are doing!
donald butcher says
I just saw your video and its exactly what I’m looking for but I’m in Massachusetts. I was wondering, as many are it seams, if you knew of any shops in the Springfield, Ma area that would do the same kind of install. I would love for you to do it but you are 8 hours away.
I’m referring to the backup camera and remote install on the ford f150.
Staff says
We will send you a email about the camera in the Ford F150
Gary says
Would like rear camera
Randy Van Fossan says
I just bought a 2016 F150 XLT with the backup camera but without remote start. I am very interested in this. However, what happens if I have my truck serviced and Ford updates the Firmware in my truck, will I lose this capability? I am in Central OH.
Staff says
The 2015 2016 F150 Remote Start program/info is stored in the smart junction box and the cluster. Technically the dealer should read settings before an update and then restore settings afterwards. We would be more concerned with the can/remote Start module losing sync with the vehicle. Worse case scenario is the dealership knocks the remote start/can offline and we would bring back online at the shop or try to “walk” a customer through the procedure on the phone.
Michael says
I purchased a 2015 F150 with backup camera. I am very interested in the remote start feature. I am interested is there any other parts other than the programming done by you ford ids computer that is need to activate this feature. If so can you tell me what these parts (and part #s) are. I understand that a technician with a ford ids computer is required, but i live in Texas so it would be a bit of a drive. Thank you.
Dustin says
I live in Kentucky and really wish I had the remote start on my truck. Any way possible I could do it ?

The video you watched shows features that require a Ford IDS computer system and software in order to program a remote start, like the youtube video shows. If you find yourself near the North Coast of lake Erie… Let the Remote Start Experts at ENORMIS know!!!

Unless you have the FORD IDS computer… There is not a way to install the remote start you saw in the video… 🙁
