Your new vehicle doesn’t have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? No problem. Check out this Challenger SRT8.
Aaron, a Harborcreek resident, was at ENORMIS, waiting for us to program another key for his 2014 Challenger SRT, when he noticed our display room. Aaron also has a 2019 Ram Truck with an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which he loves. He was testing out the Kenwood DDX 6705s on our display and decided that he wanted to upgrade his boring Challenger radio to match the Ram.
MECP-certified technician Art Dougan was assigned the installation, using the Maestro radio replacement and steering wheel control interface. Not only will the Maestro allow Aaron’s existing steering wheel controls to work with the Kenwood head unit, but it adds features like selectable track pack gauges, Check Engine Light information and constant monitoring of the SRT computer. Art also installed a new USB input for Aaron to connect his iPhone to the head unit, so the phone can rest in the cup holder or storage pocket in the center console. In addition to the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto upgrade, the DDX 6705s features advanced Bluetooth, CD/DVD, satellite radio, APP controls and more.
When Aaron picked his vehicle up the following day, Doug went over all the features and Aaron was surprised by how responsive the new Kenwood unit was. In fact, he said, “It’s more responsive than my Ram!”
