Roy is a Summit resident, outside of Erie, and first-time ENORMIS Mobile Specialties client. Roy wanted to upgrade his 2015 Silverado with tow mirrors. So, Roy had already purchased the Chevy accessory tow mirrors. But, he was not having any luck wiring the mirrors for full functionality. Moreover, he could not get the turn signals, parking lights, white work lights or heated defrost to function on the new tow mirrors! Furthermore, the Chevy parts representative told Roy that the mirrors were plug-and-play. Ummm. That is not the case.
2015 Silverado Tow Mirrors get Full Functionality
Roy needed help. So, he called the store and spoke with Doug Reichert, our integration specialist. Doug was familiar with Roy’s situation. Doug further explained, that there is no harness available to make the mirrors plug-and-play. However, ENORMIS is familiar with the Chevy Tow mirrors and properly installing them. As a result, Doug and Roy settled on a date for ENORMIS to complete the upgrade with full functionality.
This upgrade was tasked to MECP-certified technician Ken Whiteman. Ken, has done previous Chevy Tow mirror upgrades and installation. Also, he is familiar with what needs to be done to get these mirrors functioning. Correspondingly, Ken created a custom wiring harness for the mirrors. This would also plug into the vehicle’s BCM. (Body Control Module) Most importantly, the mirrors will have full light, power adjust, and defrost operation from the existing mirror switch on the truck.
We returned the truck to Roy later the same day. Doug went over the operation of the mirrors. And, Doug showed that the work lights will come on with the cargo light switch and work in reverse. Also, the defrost option will turn on when Roy activates his rear window defrost.
