2016 Silverado Backup Camera Upgrade Adds Safety in Harborcreek

Bill of Harborcreek, PA, recently purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.  This truck is much larger than the 2007 Buick Lacrosse he traded in. In light of that, his concern was not being able to backup safely. So, he wanted the safety and convenience of a Backup Camera.

2016 Silverado Backup Camera is Just Like Factory

Bill stopped by the store and spoke with our product specialist, Tony Horton. Tony looked at the factory Chevrolet radio in the truck. In doing so,  he checked which rear camera options were available. He discovered, that the existing factory radio would be able to accept a GM factory backup camera. He also found,  that the GM backup camera comes as part of a tailgate handle assembly. Bill liked this! So, the job was scheduled for a 2016 Silverado Backup Camera. That was the easy part.

MECP Technician Installs Rear Camera

We assigned the project to MECP technician Art Dougan .  The installation went smoothly. He replaced the handle assembly and made the wire harnessing connections. Not only that, but the backup camera required dealer-level programming. This programming allows the radio screen to show the camera image.  But, this was not a problem for Art. Because, ENORMIS has the GM computer . Lastly, the camera was activated with its active guidance lines. These lines will turn with the steering wheel. Isn’t that cool?

WeatherTech Protects the Vehicle

Bill also asked if ENORMIS could also install some WeatherTech no-drill mud flaps. After all, the truck was getting the rear camera installed. Tony said, No problem. Bill picked up the Silverado later that day. Afterwards, he was pleased with the results. Now he and the wife can backup more easily and safely when parking or hooking up the trailer!
