Russ, a Clymer NY resident and first time ENORMIS Mobile Specialties customer, wanted to add Blind Spot Monitoring to his 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. That’s because Russ uses the vehicle to travel back and forth from Clymer, NY to Florida. During the trip, he travels on many four lane interstates. Because, Russ’s other vehicle came with blind spot monitoring, he thought adding blind spot monitoring to the Grand Caravan would make the trips to Florida safer and less stressful. So, Russ weighed some options. The options were, adding the blind spot safety feature to his Grand Caravan or trading the Caravan in for a different vehicle. So, Russ decided that, adding the blind spot monitors was the much more economical choice.
Russ asked who he should take his Caravan to for the blind spot monitor addition. Russ even called his local dealer. Time after time he was told to take it to ENORMIS Mobile Specialties located outside of Erie, PA. So, Russ called the store and spoke with our Integration Specialist Doug Reichert about the project. In fact, Doug was very familiar with the blind spot monitoring system. Because of that, Doug quickly emailed all the advantages and features of the ENORMIS blind spot system. Doug further explained that the blind spot monitor system would communicate with the vehicle’s existing computer network system. That is a huge feature! In doing so, the blindspot monitor system would know when the turn signals are engaged, at what speed the vehicle was traveling, and when the vehicle was in reverse.
Blind Spot Monitoring gets a High Quality MECP Certified Installation
After receiving the email from Doug, Russ decided to move ahead. So, he scheduled the installation for a day when he and his wife were spending the day in Erie. Russ dropped the vehicle off at our shop on a Tuesday morning, then ran errands and had lunch in Erie. During that time, MECP certified technician Art Dougan was tasked with the installation. In more detail, Art mounted the blind spot radar sensors, wired the control module, and did the interior installation of the illuminated light indicators. After the installation and calibration, Doug test drove the vehicle through to run it through its paces. After the test driving, the vehicle was returned to Russ later that afternoon.
