Lori S. of Erie has been very satisfied with her Hyundai vehicles over the years. She previously owned 2013 and 2016 Elantra’s. But, she was very excited! That’s because Hyundai was releasing a small, newly-designed crossover, known as the Kona. Actually, she eagerly waited for them to be available. Once she took a 2019 Hyundai Kona for a test drive, she decided it’s the right vehicle for her. ENORMIS had installed remote starts in both vehicles for her previously. So, it was our pleasure to take care of her again!
2019 Hyundai Kona Gets a 2-Way Remote Start
Tony Horton had taken care of Lori in the past, so she gave him a call. Tony wanted to make sure which remote start would fit her needs. Looking back, Lori had purchased one-way remote starts. But, there were times when she couldn’t see the vehicle when using the remote start. So, with Tony’s help, she decided to go with a two-way remote start on her new Kona! The Mini 2-way, with its 1/2 mile range, light and chirp confirmation was perfect. On this vehicle, it will also allow her to lock and unlock her doors from that extended range. Not only that, but she liked the idea of using the remote start from her job. That way, she would know for sure if the vehicle started. That means, no more guessing if the car is running. She had to guess with the one-way remote starts.
This Kona is a Push-to-Start Model
One concern that Lori had was about vehicle security. That’s because, this was her first Push-to-Start vehicle. Could someone just get in and drive off with her brand new SUV? She was comfortable getting in, turning the key, and driving away. Bu,t how would the push-button-start Kona be different? Tony explained that she would have what is called “secure takeover”. In detail, the vehicle doors would lock automatically with remote start. Then, when she was ready, she would use her Hyundai fob or the remote start fob to unlock the doors and enter. The Kona would then acknowledge her fob before allowing the vehicle to be driven. In contrast, without the Hyundai fob, the vehicle would shut off if someone tried to steal it. So, knowing this really set Lori’s mind at ease!
An MECP Certified Tech Installs the Remote Start
With the decision made on which remote start, Tony scheduled her an appointment around her work schedule. Lori dropped the vehicle off using our convenient key-drop and she left for work. Her Kona was assigned to Ken Whiteman. Ken is one of our MECP Certified Technicians. Ken was well up to the task. In fact, Ken completing the installation in just a few short hours. On top of that, Lori was actually able to pick her vehicle up at lunchtime instead of end of day! Finally, on pickup, Tony went over the full operation with her. Also, Tony had her try the “secure takeover” . That way, she felt comfortable with the operation and her decision.
