Matt negotiated that a high quality and dependable remote start be included with the purchase of a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic truck. So, the local dealer called ENORMIS and spoke with Doug Reichert, our integration specialist. He inquired about adding a high-quality remote start to the Ram 1500. Doug responded that, in fact, we can install a “factory-like” remote start equivalent. How is that possible? Well, here at ENORMIS we will install “vehicle-specific” remote start wiring and software whenever possible. It takes more effort to inventory all of the extra “vehicle-specific” wire harnesses but we know it’s worth it! That’s because, we don’t like taking shortcuts and many of our customers appreciate this. The dealer scheduled the brand-new 2019 RAM 1500 for installation and gave Doug the customer details.
Ram 1500 Remote Start gets upgraded
Doug recognized Matt’s name as a previous customer of ENORMIS from North East, PA. So, he looked up the remote starts Matt has had in the past. Doug found, Matt had always chosen a long-range two-way remote start. This is a little more expensive than the factory equivalent, but the factory OE remote controls don’t typically tell you the vehicle is outside running! On top of that, the range of a factory remote start is limited to about 100ft and it’s hard to get a remote start signal to travel far when you are in a building.
1/2 Mile Range Remote Gets Added
After his research, Doug called the dealer contact and said that Matt was used to a remote start with more distance and features than the basic short-range factory remote start. He further explained, Matt needed the long-range two-way confirming remote start for use at work. That’s because, he has to park far away from the building. Long story short, we still installed the vehicle-specific Ram harness but, we also added the optional two-way 1/2 mile range transmitter. The remote start installation was performed by our MECP certified technician Art Dougan.
Knowing this, the dealer agreed to the upgrade for Matt and worked out all of the details. Matt picked up his new Ram and was delighted that ENORMIS and the dealer had coordinated to get the two-way remote start installed that he had always had in the past.
