A Mercer PA Ford dealership had a customer sold on a brand new 2020 Ford Transit Connect Utility Van. But, the customer really wanted heated seats in the van. So, the dealer representative called ENORMIS Mobile Specialties and spoke with Doug Reichert. Doug is our Integration Specialist and he was happy to assist the dealership over the telephone. In more detail, Doug explained that YES, we could add heated seats to the 2020 Ford Transit Connect. Not only could we add heated seats, but they would almost look like they came from the factory. So, Doug e-mailed pictures to the dealer. That way, he could show his customer what the controls would look like when the heated seats are installed.
The customer liked what the rotary 6 position heated switches looked like and decided to have us do the work. But, of course there is a lot more to heated seats than just the switches. Our seat heater kits offer even warmth across the bottom and back of the seat. Our kits are compatible with both cloth and leather seating surfaces. We can work with seats that have accents in the upholstery and even seats with passenger side airbag sensors. Once activated, the heaters start warming quickly, offering comfort in less than a minute. Built-in thermostats ensure the seats are comfortable and safe with even heat distribution.
Solid Installation Practices used on 2020 Ford Transit
When we work on a vehicle, we take the utmost care and ensure each and every wire connection we make is both mechanically and electrically secure. We protect our wiring to make sure it will never be damaged, and we route it so that it’s always out of view.
The installation of seat heaters requires that we remove the seats from your vehicle. The removal allows us to properly disassemble the seat, remove the upholstery and ensure we install the heating pad in the perfect position. Some shops loosen the rear edge of the seat upholstery to try and slide the heating pad into place. While their approach is faster, they can’t guarantee that the pad is installed straight with no bunching or wrinkles. However, once our installation is done, you can’t even tell we have worked on your seat.
In fact, all of our technicians are MECP certified. The Mobile Electronics Certification Program provides strict guidelines for the proper practices of designing and installing mobile electronics products. One last point, the installation of seat heaters will not automatically void your warranty.
