Don, a Fairview, PA, resident was looking to upgrade the radio infotainment system in his 2006 Mustang GT. It was very hard to see behind the Mustang GT when it was in reverse, and this one also lacked creature comforts like Bluetooth streaming audio and wireless phone calls, etc. The client didn’t need to upgrade his Ford Mustang GT — he just had to upgrade the in-dash technology.
The existing radio was nice and sounded great, but it lacked the things newer vehicles have. Don wanted the convenience of Bluetooth and the safety feature of a backup camera. He had gotten used to these conveniences in his new vehicles and wanted to know if these features could be added to the 2006 Mustang GT.
Don stopped into the ENORMIS and spoke with our integration specialist, Doug Reichert. The Mustang already had the Ford upgraded Shaker 500 sound system. Don was adamant about keeping the good sound, but adding the conveniences. Doug did some research and was able to locate the correct harnesses and interfaces to retain the Shaker 500 system.
Don wanted to add an upgraded Kenwood infotainment system. He also wanted to add a backup camera to the vehicle. All his new vehicles have backup cameras.
This Mustang is Don’s baby, and he does not drive it in the rain. Finally the perfect weather day arrived and Don was able to bring the Mustang out to the shop, where MECP-certified technician Art Dougan expertly installed the upgrades and tuned the Kenwood equalizer for a perfect-sounding MACH 500 stereo system.
