A remote start in a 2014 BMW 328Xi hardtop convertible? Yep! Let’s take a look.
Esther, an Erie resident and repeat ENORMIS Mobile Specialties customer, wanted a remote start for her 2014 BMW 328Xi Convertible. Since her BMW had all-wheel drive and a hardtop, it had the potential to be the perfect summer and winter vehicle. It’s no fun storing your preferred car in the winter and having to drive an “inferior” winter car.
BMW 328Xi Remote Start Gets a 2-way Remote
Esther called our store and spoke with our integration specialist Doug Reichert about adding a remote start. Doug explained the complexity of the BMW smart key system and electronics. Therefore, this would not be a typical remote start installation. But, Doug found the perfect solution for Esther: a BMW-specific remote start solution that fully integrates with the BMW’s comfort access system. Not only that, but she needed to decide on a remote control to operate the remote start. So, for remote start activation, she chose a 1/2-mile range two-way remote control. Moreover,The 2-Way remote features a 1-button design capable of sending up to 3 commands: lock, unlock, and remote start from a very far distance!
Doug scheduled Esther for a Friday when she could leave the vehicle with us for the day. When the car arrived, we tasked MECP-certified technician Ken Whiteman with the installation. After programming the software for the BMW Comfort Access system, installing the remote start module and testing the system, we delivered the vehicle back to Esther late that same day.
Esther can now enjoy her convertible all year round a little more comfortably thanks to her ENORMIS remote start. So, if you have a European or German vehicle that you like to drive in the Lake Erie winters, contact the remote start experts at ENORMIS Mobile Specialties.
