Charlie Ramsey, the Fire Chief for the fire department in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania, recently contacted ENORMIS Mobile Specialties for some help with one of the department’s vehicles. This wasn’t the first time Chief Ramsey had worked with ENORMIS, since we had previously replaced a faulty remote car starter on his Jeep Wrangler. ENORMIS: Where did you learn about ENORMIS Mobile Specialties?

Charlie Ramsey: I grew up in Harborcreek, just down the road from ENORMIS. I’ve driven past the shop thousands of times since they opened in 1999.

ENORMIS: Why did you choose to have ENORMIS Mobile Specialties work on your vehicle?

Charlie Ramsey: My brothers have had work done by ENORMIS over the years. Knowing that they continue to go back for more work means that I could trust them with whatever projects I have.

ENORMIS: What impressed you the most about ENORMIS Mobile Specialties?

Charlie Ramsey: The effort they put into researching the perfect solution for every project is impressive. When I brought them the Jeep, they inspected it before telling me what would be required to make it reliable. When I contacted them about adding lights to the Ford F-250 at work, they documented all of my requests, did their homework, then came back with three clearly defined proposals.

I like that Lou and his team aren’t afraid to give feedback on an unwise request. I wanted Wig Wag lights on the F-250. After researching the project, they suggested against it because it would have required new light assemblies. They saved the department money by offering a viable alternative.

ENORMIS: Tell us about the work you had done by ENORMIS Mobile Specialties.

Charlie Ramsey: The remote starter in our Jeep stopped working. Lou’s team thoroughly inspected the wiring, showed me what was damaged and explained how they could repair it while installing a high-quality starter that would be reliable. There was no sales pitch, just an explanation of what would be required to do the job correctly. I appreciate that.

When it came time to upgrade the F-250, Lou listened to what I wanted. He came back with a proposal that included quality equipment from Whelen and Abrams – big names in the emergency lighting industry. We need everything on our vehicles to be reliable, and I knew right away that I was going to be pleased with the project.

ENORMIS: Was there a team member at ENORMIS Mobile Specialties who stood out?

Charlie Ramsey: Lou has been my point of contact since the beginning. He listens to his clients to understand their needs. That trait has made it easy to work with him. Their technician Ken Whiteman did the work on our truck, and everything is organized, neat and tidy. I couldn’t ask for more.

ENORMIS: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Charlie Ramsey: The communication from the ENORMIS team throughout the F-250 project exceeded my expectations. If they weren’t 100 percent sure about something, they called and asked. No guesswork and no assumptions. The result was exactly what we needed.

Any time we’ve had questions or needed help with something at the station or on a scene, even late at night, Lou has taken my phone calls and made himself available to help. This is a truly impressive level of support.
