Steve, a North East resident and repeat ENORMIS Mobile Specialties customer, called regarding a remote start for his wife’s 2018 Mazda CX-5. Lucky her! His wife Judy works at Erie Insurance and has to park in a garage across the street from her office. She can see her vehicle in the parking garage from her office window. Steve spoke with Doug Reichert, our integration specialist, about adding a remote start to the Mazda.
Even though the Mazda is a push-to-start model, Doug assured Steve that there is no issue with installing a remote start and further eased any concerns by letting Steve know that ENORMIS would only use vehicle-specific harnessing on the Mazda CX-5. That’s right: a harness made specially for adding a remote start to a Mazda CX-5.
The ENORMIS Factory Start v5 on this Mazda CX-5 allows Judy to walk up to the vehicle (while the remote start has the engine running), press her proximity unlock button on the door, get into the vehicle and drive away. As long as Judy has her factory Mazda key-fob with her, this vehicle has automatic takeover.
Steve arranged for Judy to drop the vehicle off at ENORMIS around lunch time. When Judy came to pick the vehicle up, Doug was happy to show her step-by-step how to use the remote start system.
