Steve from Clymer, NY, works in the oil fields. Because of that, he needs his F-150 to be visible from a distance to prevent dangerous accidents with heavy equipment. Furthermore, he was looking to add multiple F-150 warning lights and a simple remote start to the company’s 2019 Ford F-150. Steve has worked with ENORMIS in the past. So, he was familiar with our attention to detail and quality of work.
After a conversation, Doug Reichert recommended that Steve go with the simple Factory Start v5. The reason was simplicity. In more detail, it would allow Steve and his employees to start the vehicle with a simple press of the existing lock button 3 times to start or stop the vehicle. In other words, no extra remotes needed!
With the remote start figured out, Steve wanted high visibility for the safety lighting. So, Doug and our Operations Manager recommended that Steve go with all 4 corners and a roof mounted LED light bar setup. After that, Steve was onboard and excited for the installation.
F-150 Warning Lights Get Installed by MECP Technician
Ken Whiteman an MECP Certified Technician, was tasked with the installation the very next week. Ken installed 2 thin LED strobes between the front bumper and grille area. Also, two hideaway strobes were installed in the rear taillight housing’s. A Backrack 15004 was mounted with a LED mini light bar. Ken also wired the lights to 3 switches mounted neatly next to the steering wheel. One switch turns the 4 corner strobes on and off. Another switch is for the Backrack mounted LED light bar, and the third switch to change the flash pattern.
After the light installation, Ken programmed the truck to recognize the remote start. Because of this, it allows Steve to control the remote start settings directly from his Ford instrument cluster. After the programming, came the remote start module installation. Doug, Ken, and Mike ran the truck through it’s paces and returned the truck back to Steve the next day to get back into the oil fields.
