Glen, a North East, PA, resident was having an issue with his wife’s 2015 Cadillac SRX. It was her CUE infotainment system screen. The CUE system works off of a haptic feedback system. Moreover, that means when you touch the screen, it will vibrate to alert you the command has been received. To summarize, the CUE system controls the radio, navigation, and even heating and cooling systems! Obviously that’s a lot of stuff. But, it’s not working.
2015 Cadillac SRX Screen Needed Repair
The screen would get stuck in its haptic feedback and lock up. So, that would prevent the driver from being able to control the features. The display screen also has the common “spider webbing” in the lower right-hand corner. If you touched the screen, it would essentially do whatever the radio wanted to do.
Glenn wanted the SRX screen repair to happen fast. So, Glen called the store and spoke with Doug Reichert. In fact, Doug had previous experience with the Cadillac CUE system screen and its failures.
The CUE failure was assigned to MECP-certified technician Art Dougan. Art scanned the vehicle for trouble codes and removed the CUE system to inspect it. After that, Art found that the CUE system had screen defects. Not only that, but the chrome haptic buttons beneath the display screen were also failing. Another key point, was the Cadillac dealer wanted approximately $1,400 for replacement of CUE system parts plus the labor. That was more than Glen wanted to spend.
Doug was able to source a genuine Cadillac replacement CUE system radio screen for half the cost. Also, ENORMIS owns factory GM computers. That means, we were able to program the CUE system to the vehicle. There were no issues and we were able to return the Cadillac SRX back to the customer the very next day.
