Marvin stopped in at ENORMIS with his 2018 F-350 with concerns about worksite safety lighting. He met our resident problem-solver Tony Horton. They discussed adding front/rear safety lighting and a roof-mounted beacon-style light. Tony prepared estimates for Marvin and e-mailed them. After approximately a week of consideration, Marvin called to schedule the work.
Marvin asked if the existing rear LED tail lights could flash like strobe lights to warn oncoming traffic. Our technician Ken Whiteman retrieved schematics and guess what? The rear tail lights are now being used as strobes. We did not have to mount additional lights in the rear.
We used Abrams low-profile amber strobe LEDs in the front grille. For the beacon, we used an Abrams 7” beacon light.
Marvin had concerns about the light being mounted and screwed through the roof, and about any possible roof leakage. Ken solved that concern easily. The vehicle did not have a third brake light; it was omitted with the Knapheide work body package. Ken made a heavy, custom ABS mount for the beacon and used the knockout for the third brake light as the mounting base. Foam underneath, the mount avoids any scratching and possible noise from lying against the roof. NO drilling into the roofline.
Marvin seemed pleased with our work and may bring a second vehicle back to us for the exact same install.
