Enormis Mobile Specialties in Erie offers high-quality fog and auxiliary lighting for today’s vehicles. Many of the modern car, truck and SUVs on the road today have substandard lighting. That means when you are out at night, it can be hard to see, so your judgment can be clouded. Adding a good set of auxiliary lighting can make a huge difference in night-time visibility.
Mercedes Fog Lighting Success Story
Recently, a client with a brand-new 2017 Mercedes GLE350 contacted us about the lighting on his vehicle. Frankly, the Mercedes GLE 350 headlights were unacceptable. At night, his vision was truly compromised. To make matters worse, the vehicle didn’t come with factory-installed fog lights. He knew he needed better lighting, but was concerned about passing his yearly Pennsylvania state inspection as well as blinding oncoming traffic if he added aftermarket lighting to his Mercedes.
Fortunately, Enormis sells Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)-compliant fog lights that are completely street legal. SAE creates the standards for pretty much everything on a vehicle.
Our team securely mounted a set of Rigid SR Series fog lights that use their patented Clarilux™ technology, giving them the perfect spread and height of light for onroad use. We added waterproof quick-release connectors to the lighting harness. Should the GLE350 ever require front-end service, the newly installed lights can easily be disconnected along with the other Mercedes electronics in the front bumper area. The lights themselves are engineered to come on with the parking lights and low beams, and go off if the high beams are activated.
In case the client ever wants to disable the lights, we installed a switch under the steering column in an easily accessible location.
OEM-level Installation
One of the benefits of choosing Enormis Mobile Specialties for your lighting needs is our quality of workmanship. Our standards meet – and often exceed – those of a new vehicle manufacturer. We securely loom all our wiring with solder and heat shrink on every connection for ultimate longevity. We follow factory harnesses whenever possible to ensure easy serviceability in the future.
In many GM, Ford, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, we can even reprogram the factory computer using our dealer-level diagnostic computers and use factory switches to control your new lighting. Your vehicle computer will think it has factory fog lights when it never had them in the beginning.
Driving Light Options
Another popular option for improving driving at night is a set of driving lights. What makes these different from a fog light is they are intended to work with your high beams. Imagine being able to see two to three times better when you are on an empty stretch of road and turn on your high beams. Driving lights have optics that are designed to throw as much light as possible down the road ahead of you.
