A client from Harborcreek recently visited ENORMIS Mobile Specialties to find out if we could install a new radio and upgrade her Jeep Wrangler power locks. The client wanted a radio with Bluetooth hands-free calling and audio streaming capabilities. The Mopar Bluetooth option would have been about $500 and wouldn’t integrate with the factory radio. Doug showed her a JVC KWV-340BT multimedia receiver with all the features she wanted. A few weeks later, the client called back to inquire about the power locks, power windows and a remote starter installation. Much to her surprise, we’ve already performed these exact upgrades twice this spring.
Jeep Wrangler Power Locks and Windows Upgrade
Kenny was assigned the task of upgrading this shiny new Jeep. We ordered the factory power window components, door lock actuators and window control switches. Kenny removed the manual components and replaced them with the powered units. He also created a custom wire harness to get everything working just as if it had come from the factory.
Citimat Remote Starter System
The next item on the list was to install one of our Citimat 1-way remote car starter systems. The Citimat provides up to 3,000 feet of range to make it easy to start the Jeep. Kenny tied the new power-locking system into the remote starter so the owner can lock or unlock the Wrangler remotely with one of the two four-button remotes.
JVC Radio Upgrade
The last part of the project was to install the new JVC radio and connect it to all the factory speakers. Kenny had the radio wire harness adapter soldered up and installed quickly and efficiently, and ran the hands-free Bluetooth microphone up to the center of the windshield. This mic location ensures the clearest possible outgoing audio. Kenny also installed a Maestro RR integration module that allows the switches on the steering wheel to work with the new JVC radio and lets the JVC radio display tire pressure information as well as a set of gauges.
Convenience Accessory Upgrade Project
With the Jeep Wrangler power locks and other accessories installed and tested, it was time for the client to return to ENORMIS Mobile Specialties in Erie to pick up her Jeep. Doug reviewed how each component worked, and we helped her pair her smartphone with the new radio.
