First-time ENORMIS Mobile Specialties customer and Lake Shore Erie resident wanted to have a remote start installed in his 2015 Subaru WRX. Mike had questions about the remote start installation since the vehicle is a push-button start and has a manual transmission. He sent an e-mail request to us, asking if it was even possible to install a remote start in his vehicle.
Doug Reichert, our product specialist, quickly replied: “Yes, it’s possible to install a remote start on a manual transmission.” ENORMIS uses only the latest technologies when installing a remote start. In Mike’s case, we used the WRX-specific interfaces and a digital sensor that will not allow the vehicle to remote start unless it is in neutral and the parking brake is set.
When Doug explained that ENORMIS would install a remote start that works specifically with the vehicle’s Subaru electronics, it eased Mike’s mind. Mike and Doug continued to communicate via e-mail and even set up the appointment and delivery of the vehicle without a phone call.
Mike chose the Ataqan remote start with 6/10 of a mile range and two-way confirmation. (Range increased in fall 2018.) The remote will notify him that the car is running and getting warm. Another nice feature of the WRX is that when the heated seats are left on, they will come back on with the remote start. How cool is that?
