A client from Fairview, Pennsylvania, recently called ENORMIS Mobile Specialties to inquire about options for 2016 Nissan Frontier power windows. The client had purchased the truck recently and got a great deal on it. It had all the features he wanted except power windows and power locks. After doing some research, our Product and Integration Specialist Doug Reichert found the best way to add these features to the truck and provided the client with a quote to complete the upgrade.
Factory-Installed Quality Components
ENORMIS ordered factory power window regulators and lock actuators from a local Nissan dealership. While some aftermarket kits are available, they don’t offer the reliability of the factory parts. When the vehicle owner, Richard, arrived at our shop, he met with Ken Whiteman, one of our MECP-certified technicians. Ken reviewed the plans for the project and how long it would take to complete.
Nissan Frontier Power Windows
We started by removing the door trim panels from the pickup truck and replacing the manual window control mechanism. With the glass carefully supported, Ken installed the new motorized window regulator components. Once all the parts were aligned for smooth operation, Ken set to work creating a wire harness that would replicate the factory power window functionality. Richard has two window control switches on the driver’s door, so he can roll his window up and down, as well as the passenger window.
Remote Door Lock Upgrade
With the windows taken care of, Ken set to work upgrading the door locks with motorized actuators from the factory. Once again, careful alignment of all the parts ensures smooth operation and excellent reliability. We added a rocker switch to the upper trim panel in each door to make controlling the locks easy.
Rearview Mirror Upgrade
While at the shop, Richard asked about upgrading the rearview mirror with one that included a compass and temperature display. We showed him an auto-dimming mirror that had the features he wanted. Unlike manual mirrors that require you to push a lever to reduce the brightness when someone is behind you, an auto-dimming mirror includes sensors that automatically darken the mirror. A small green display in the corner of the mirror shows outside temperature and the vehicle heading.
Factory Convenience Options Upgrade Project
It took Ken most of a day, but he had Richard’s Nissan Frontier power windows and locks installed and the mirror upgraded. Richard was impressed with the fit and finish of the new system and loved how easy we were to work with.
