Don, a North East PA resident, wanted to upgrade the safety features of his wife’s 2015 Subaru. In fact, Don and Harriet have been driving Subaru’s for the last 20 years! That’s because, they love the safety features that Subaru is known for. For example, this Subaru came equipped with the Subaru Eyesight system. That gives them a lane keep assist and front collision warning. However, the Subaru lacked side blind spot warning system. Let’s be honest, as we all get a little older, it becomes harder and harder to turn our necks quickly to the left or right and see what’s going on behind us.
So, Don wanted the added security and safety of an ENORMIS Blind spot monitor system. The blind spot system features two radar based modules mounted inside the rear bumper of the vehicle. The modules detect if a vehicle is to the left or right of your vehicle. On top of that, the driver gets a visual and audible alert if you start to change lanes with a vehicle in your path. It will also alert you visually if a vehicle is coming up beside you from the rear.
Subaru Blind Spot System Gets an MECP Installation
For a proper installation, the ENORMIS blind spot monitor system communicates with the Subaru’s CAN/computer system. This is important! Why? Because, this allows the blindspot system to know if you have your turn signals on and also how fast the vehicle is moving. Not all system are like this. As an example, you don’t want this system working as you slowly drive thru a parking lot.
So, Don arranged to drop his wife’s 2015 Subaru Forester off. Then, MECP certified technician Ken Whiteman was tasked with the installation. Ken expertly installed the radar modules, the indicators, and control module’s to the manufacturer specifications. After the installation, Ken test drove the vehicle extensively. He did this by driving through city and highway roads to verify correct operation and integration into the vehicle’s CAN/computer network. Doug returned the Forester the next day to Don and his wife after explaining all the features of the system. If that wasn’t enough, Don later returned with his own 2015 Impreza for the same installation!
