A woman from Union City, Pennsylvania, decided to get a gift for her husband. His new 2018 F-150 was missing one thing: a high-quality, long-distance remote start. She decided to get our Factory Start v4 and add the optional long-distance two-way remote control. This remote control isn’t just pretty, it’s also water-resistant.
Here’s the deal. You can hold the button down for about 3 seconds and it sends a start signal. If the truck starts up, the remote control beeps and flashes lights on the remote. Then, every 10 seconds the lights turn red and flash. Why? They are acting as a timer. It starts out with 3 lights, then 2 and then 1, and then the engine shuts off if you don’t get to the truck within 15 minutes.
But wait, it does more! If you quickly press and release one button, the doors will lock and the remote will confirm if the F-150 got the signal. Two quick presses will send an unlock signal and the remote will confirm whether the truck got the signal.
From how far will this remote start operate the F-150? The maximum range is approximately 1/2 mile. Ever wondered if you locked your doors? This remote will tell you. (You can still use the factory Ford remote as usual, if you prefer.)
