A West Springfield customer contacted ENORMIS via e-mail in February about installing a remote start, a better radio head unit and a 12-inch JL Audio subwoofer in his 2014 Dodge Caravan. Doug Reichert, our service advisor, contacted the client and found out what he did not like about his existing radio head unit.
This client was looking for advanced Bluetooth and audio streaming, a touchscreen, and the ability to retain his steering wheel controls for volume, source and channel change. We installed a JVC Double Din infotainment system. It even gets information directly from the Dodge computer.
This client uses his cellphone for everything, so we opted for the DRONE mobile remote start system. He can start his van and make sure his doors are locked from miles away or from the basement of a commercial building.
We special-ordered a subwoofer box specifically made to enhance the sound of the JL Audio subwoofer. Sounds like a normal install, right? It was not: We had to accommodate for the fact that the Caravan was a mobility vehicle with steel flooring and seating removed for the ramp. Our technician, Art Dougan, was up for the challenge. Art ran all the wiring for the subwoofer from the radio to the rear of the vehicle, above the headliner of the vehicle, down the rear pillars and to the subwoofer. Not an easy task!
